AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN | Salone del Mobile

As every year, our interior trend scouts were on the ground in Milan. And Milan in April means one thing: Salone del Mobile.

For one week, the city transforms into the epicenter of global design — not only within the exhibition halls, but everywhere. Showrooms, galleries, courtyards, and streets become part of the experience. Fuorisalone turns all of Milan into an open-air gallery where international brands, emerging studios, and independent creatives showcase where design is headed next. In short: if you want to know what’s coming, you have to be here.

We were there.
Here are our highlights:

Back to stories

Swiss precision furniture meets Asian folklore fantasy: for Milan Design Week, USM collaborated with Kasing Lung – the artist and picture-book author behind The Monsters and the now-iconic cult character Labubu. The result is "Beautiful Thing!", a limited-edition collection in which classic USM pieces merge with Lung’s playful and intricately detailed universe. Storage becomes a display piece. Furniture becomes a collector’s item.

Art and interior design converge. Design becomes personal. Collectibles that bring joy.

Knoll International arrived at Milan Design Week with new collections that perfectly embody what the brand stands for: an architectural tension between opposites. Restraint and playfulness. Discipline and humor.

On one side: the Dozie Kanu Table Collection. Nigerian craftsmanship meets Texas cowboy culture – steel rods, stretched leather, and hanging tassels that move with the slightest touch. A table that never sits still.

On the other: the Morrison Hannah Chair. Originally designed in 1973 by Andrew Morrison and Bruce Hannah and now reissued – available in Europe for the first time. It looks like a sculpture and sits like a promise. Whether working, dining, or simply being, the Morrison Hannah Chair takes it all in stride. “Comfort without fuss.”

Our highlight.

Two worlds. One brand. That’s exactly why we love KNOLL.

Murano glass studio 6:AM transformed the historic Piscina Romano, a former public swimming pool, into a striking showcase. Lamps, vases, stools, and the iconic glass cubes from Bottega Veneta’s Summer 2026 show were stacked into columns nearly five meters high, forming a monumental installation of Venetian glass.

The columns rise from the former changing rooms, spaces once used by local residents as communal gathering places, even when they had no intention of swimming. The glass blocks capture and refract light in unexpected ways, creating a subtle shimmer that evolves throughout the day.

Repetition as an art form. Craftsmanship as a statement. One idea, beautifully staged.

Faye Toogood took over Casa Tacchini and promptly turned it upside down. Her response to the invitation was Material Anthology, an immersive sculptural intervention that delves deep into Tacchini’s archives, workshops, and material remnants.

Offcuts, patterns, and raw materials were reshaped and reimagined. Four rooms, four distinct color worlds: from the blue veins of a marble block to the delicate pink of a knot in wood. Each room unfolded as its own chapter. Design as craft. Craft as art.

We got lost. And it was absolutely worth it.

During the opening of the Bornhold showroom in Palma, we discovered ACERBIS for ourselves, and the Lokum Side Table immediately became a favorite. Designed by Sabine Marcelis, it is mouth-blown glass in its purest form: minimalist in shape, maximal in impact. Color, light, and reflection merge into an object that is simply impossible to ignore.

For Milan Design Week, the collection was presented in a new petrol green finish: deep, elegant, and hypnotic.

Coming soon to our showroom.

The Canadian lighting brand A-N-D did not have its own stand at Salone, but its distinctive luminaires could be found illuminating a wide range of other brands' presentations.

Founded in Vancouver, A-N-D is known for sculptural lighting objects that merge function with art, often drawing inspiration from the language of industrial engineering. This is not fast-moving trend design, but rather a collection of pieces that transform spaces for the long term. Their signature is an almost weightless quality that nevertheless commands a strong presence.

You can now experience the IRIS Pendant by A-N-D in our showroom.

Kaleidoscopic light emerges from a spherical light source and radiates through a crystalline surface. Encased within an elliptical form, IRIS appears to float effortlessly in space, striking, distinctive, and impossible to overlook.

As always, trend scouting was a great pleasure for us, not least because it allows us to reflect on where we stand ourselves. A number of new products will be arriving over the coming weeks, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Of course, we would be even happier to welcome you in person. After all, beautiful furniture becomes even more beautiful when experienced firsthand, when you can touch it, explore the details, and take a seat yourself.
