An impressive example of this commitment is the latest collection: SUSTAINETTLE. This unique rug series, designed by Sebastian Herkner, is made entirely of Himalayan nettle – M2R's first purely plant-based collection.

The minimalist, solid-color designs are based on hand sketches by Herkner and are distinguished by their iconic simple lines. Different pile heights create fascinatingly varying textures, depending on the angle and light, highlighting the unique character of this extraordinary and durable material.
Himalayan nettle grows wild in the primeval forests of Nepal and requires no arable land or additional water resources. The harvesting is done by hand, and processing the plant fibers provides a vital source of income for small farmers in rural areas of Nepal.
